for 1820 and converted, probably by the maker from flintlock, with re-browned 31 1/2in. damascus barrels, re-applied script signature to the top-rib 'JOHN MANTON & SON LONDON', platinum vented plugs, bevel edged locks with clipped stepped tails, scroll and trophy engraving, signed on the bar 'JOHN MANTON & SON, PATENT', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including replacement trigger-guard tang and bow, and original ramrod, complete with a period mahogany guncase by the same maker (numbered for gun 6725), maker's parchment trade-label inside lid with No. 6 Dover Street address, lined and compartmented in the original green baize and including a Hawksley 'Hanging Game flask with nickel top (mainspring at fault), a W. Powell turn-screw, oil bottle, shot charger, cap-tin, set of later cleaning rods and a leather shot bandolier
